CASology 174 - Owl Meet my card for this challenge. I wanted to use wiggly eyes on the owls and used an appropriate sentiment that is computer generated. On the balloons I added a small rhinestone to each for the reflection point (the white reflective mark originally used disappeared with the use of the Glossy Accents). I mirror stamped the owls that turned out OK (not perfect ... it was a first), so I went with it. Thank you for looking and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback. Muse Challenge #143 Tracey provided a very fun card that really made me think. Inspirations from her card that I used are: --red and white --reindeer (Rudolph) --in lieu of ornament I used a balloon --similar design ... I flipped with the balloon at upper left and sentiment on bottom right --used gold in the stars Rudolph is showing his best wearing a red sweater with white dots adorned with Stickles for a little sparkle and a big red enamel dot for his nose. Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is always treasured. 25 Days of Christmas Tags This is the first year that I followed Tracey's event, and it was most inspirational with all the festive tags. For my tag, my inspiration came from Colleen's tag. My tag uses the red and white background with a snow slope, tree and snow dots. Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is treasured. Pinterest Inspired Challenge The inspiration for this challenge is stunning. My interpretation includes a distress ink background, die-cut and inlaid flowers, use of gold foil for the flower centers and sentiment. A few lilac pearl dots are added for interest. IRL the colors are much richer. Unfortunately, the photo/lighting make the colors appear lighter. Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is valued. Products: Cardstock - Recollections DP (foil) - DCWV Dies - MFT - Die-namics Ink - Ranger - Distress Embellishments - pearl dots
Muse: ChristmasVisions 29 The very talented Betty provided us with our inspirations this week. The rich red, gold and white colors had my attention. Also, the general layout on my card is similar. Instead of using a gold sentiment, I chose to inlay a gold foil strip between the red and white panels. My card includes some stamped holly. For a little sparkle and interest, I added WOS to the holly berries and stars and gold dots. For added dimension the main panel is double thickness. Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is greatly valued. Muse Challenge 142 Our lovely inspiration for us this week was provided by Anita. The elements from her card that had my attention are: --color theme --use of heart --heart-felt sentiment --tag (pierced instead of stitched) In lieu of the embossed lines the blue card panel has an embossed edge from the die-cut. The tag and panel are double thickness (instead of the foam tape) for added dimension. The heart is inlaid and covered with some WOS for a little glitter. To finish, I added a few small rhinestones in the same color palette for an extra sparkle. For the main panel I did a water-color look by using Peacock Feathers Distress ink. The darker marks were made by flicking some of the ink (I had more splatters other places than my card panel ... must practice more!!) Muse: ChristmasVisions 28 The very talented Chriss is our muse this week, and she provided us a card with a jewel-tone teal green panel. I love jewel tones, and that's what I used on my card by blending Distress inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers). In addition to the teal green panel, other details from Chriss' card that I used are the white frame, white sentiment, and similar layout. The sentiment includes a red layer between the white layers ... may be hard to see in the photo. To capture some of the other colors I die-cut a flourish in three colors, then cut pieces and adhered offset. A little clear Wink of Stella and a few red pearls were added for embellishments. Thank you for looking and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback. Muse Challenge 140 Our muse this week is the very talented Michele who provided a beautiful card for our inspirations and challenged us to include the following on our card: --water coloring - I used three colors of distress inks and sprayed with water to achieve a water-color effect --heat embossed image - flower is stamped with Versamark and distress inks, clear embossed and heat set --dry embossing - used a stencil for a subtle pattern on the white panel (difficult to see in the photo) --thank you sentiment - achieved a similar color as the grey card stock by stamping with blue, then black, then blue In addition to the above, I used a similar layout for my card Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is most appreciated. Twelve Tags of Christmas I heard about this challenge from Darnell's blog and thought it would be fun to play. Gorgeous tags have been posted, and I enjoyed each one. I believe my tag meets the basic requirements of --stamp --ink and the additional details of texture/dimension --scalloped edges --heat embossing --rhinstone gems --gold foil and cord In real life the base of the tag is a jewel-tone green achieved by blending Ranger Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers). Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is greatly appreciated. Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search - DECEMBER My tag submitted for the guest designer search. I made this tag for one of my grandsons who is a teenager. When he last visited, he wore the most colorful "happy" socks. I think the Quick Quips stamps work well for teenagers ... for this tag I used three of them and the colors from a pair of his socks. I made the tag double thickness, so it can be used as a book mark. Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is greatly appreciated. CASEing Genius Challenge CASology 172 - Give For the CASEing Genius Challenge (with Kelly Latevola - one-year anniversary) my genius to CASE is Ardyth, and this is her card. In my card I tried to capture Ardyth's fondness for square card base, CAS/graphic style and use of rainbow of colors while making the card my own. A little sparkle was added to the small red heart with clear wink of Stella. It may be hard to see in the photo, but the heart is lightly embossed with puzzle pieces. I'm also submitting to the CASology challenge with the cue word "give," Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is much appreciated. Products: Cardstock - Recollections; MFT Dies - MFT - Die-namics Sentiment - Computer Generated Embellishment - Wink of Stella - clear
Muse: ChristmasVisions 27 Kimberly provided us a very fun card (the expression on the cat's face is priceless) for our muse this week. My stamp collection provided no stamps, etc., that were close to her card ... yet, I still wanted to play in this fun challenge. With that I chose to focus on: --the color of kitty and the ornaments (I used rhinestones to capture these colors) --a flourish in green (in lieu of the fir limb) --a bird (in lieu of kitty) Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is most appreciated. Products: Card Stock - Recollections Stamps - MFT; unknown and never used from stash Inks - Colorbox - dye and pigment Embellishments - rhinestones from stash; Wink of Stella - clear

Muse Challenge 139 This friendly monster stopped on my card stock upside down, so that was the starting point for the Muse challenge. The very talented Ardyth provided us such a fun card using pandas. Although I don't have pandas, a few details from her card had my attention ... --the black, white and red color theme --the balloon situated off the edge of the panel --the main card panel shortened a little --a celebratory/uplifting sentiment This card will be for one of my grandsons who are both avid soccer players. (The older grandson will receive a similar card in his college school colors.) Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is greatly appreciated.
