MCV - Merry Christmas

Hello Everyone!

Time for some card playing at MCV 73 where Robyn made a lovely card for our inspirations. How fun that she used stash/goodies from her crafting area and created a beauty. For my card I chose a water color background, flourish, Merry Christmas sentiment, similar colors. The background was created by using Distress Inks (Faded Jeans, Emerald Lagoon, Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers) stamped onto an acrylic block then spritzed with a translucent color shine and smooshed onto card stock. I love the shimmer created by the color shine. The flourish and sentiment were stamped using Versamark and Distress Inks (Faded Jeans and Emerald Lagoon) then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This adds more shimmer.  A few royal blue sequins were added for sparkle. I decided to mount the water color panel to a Midnight Blue panel for some pop.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

MCV - From Santa

Greetings!

Time to play at MCV 72 where Cornelia has provided a beautiful tag for our inspirations. For my tag I chose to use colors, velum, white embossing.  Except for the DP adhered to the white tag base I decided to secure the velum and small tag just with the silver tie. A couple of small presents were stamped using a die ink the color of the DP onto the small tag. The ribbons were colored with a grey Copic marker then brushed with a few coats of clear WOS to give them a silvery look. A couple of clear gems were added to the centers of the bows for additional sparkle.

Hope you're having a cheerful day.

Muse - You're the Coolest

Hi Everyone,

Time to play in some challenges ...

Muse Challenge 193 where Jenni Murray is the designer this week.  Her card is so fun. For my card I chose an animal friend (with the coolest pink dotted shorts), colors, split sentiment with one of the words in a larger font.

CASology 225 - cue word is soft.  The penguin is 'squeeze-ably' soft.  Also the snow slopes and melting ice cream bar fall into the category.

Inkspirational 121 - word prompt Chill.  Since the penquin is the 'coolest', I think my card falls within this category.

Hope you're having a great day.

The sentiment was stamped with Hampton Arts brown pigment ink and heat embossed with Hampton Arts clear embossing powder.

Hope you're having a pleasant day.

OLS - Peace on Earth

Greetings!

Playing cards with One-Layer Simplicity #33 - Peace Be With You.

For my card I stamped and heat embossed the dove and sentiment in white pigment ink and white embossing powder to provide some shine and texture. The olive branch was stamped using green distress ink. Lines in white and green with the blue of the card stock showing provide grounding.

Hope you're having a peaceful day.

MCV - Merry Christmas

Hello Friends!

Today, playing cards at Muse ChristmasVisions 70 where Chriss has provided a card with non-traditional Christmas colors for our inspirations.  For my card I used DP, buildings, snow slope, Christmas sentiment. The background patterned paper is black and copper foil and looks like a dot-to-dot (or star-to-star) star map. City buildings and snow slopes in off-white card stock were added. The sentiment was stamped in white and heat embossed using white EP.  A copper foil strip that matches the copper color in the DP was added at the bottom of the card.

Wish you a great day.

MCV - CAS(E) this sketch - joy

Greetings Everyone!

Today, I'm playing in a couple of challenges

For Muse: ChristmasVisions 69 Kimberly provided a fun, joyful card for our creativity. For my card I used glitter strip, deer, joy sentiment, background text, colors.  This could be a birthday card for a recipient who has a birthday on Christmas ... the text is birthday themed. A custom colored gem on the deer's nose adds the finishing touch. Since I used the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch #197 for inspiration, I'm also entering into this challenge.

Hope you day is well.

Muse - Thanks

Hello Everyone!

Today, I'm playing cards with the Muse Card Challenge 190.  Estelle, the guest designer, provided a gorgeous colored, detailed card for our inspirations.  For my card I chose to use the color palette (although mixed up a bit), leaves, 'stitching', one-word sentiment, general layout.  One leaf is white, one silver glitter and one in purple/plum tones.  The 'stitching' was created using a die.  The sentiment was stamped/heat embossed using white pigment ink and embossing powder.

Hope you're having a wonderful day.

Muse - Merry Everything

Hello Everyone!

Time to play cards at Muse Challenge 189. This week Lucille K, our hostess, provided a fun card for our inspirations. When I saw the Muse card, I thought of a Christmas card ... so that is what I created. From Lucille's card I chose to use pink circle element, layout, split sentiment (the first word stamped in a little arch following the shape of the circle and the second stamped horizontally), designer paper. The reason I chose the inlaid tree was to match the trees in the DP ... oh, yes, there are trees on the DP ... after assembling the card I realized the trees had been partially cut off and covered up ... oh, well!!!

Hope you're having a wonderful day.

Muse - With Sympathy

Greetings!

Tonight I'm playing cards at Muse where Jenni is our hostess. My rendition of Jenni's beautiful classic card includes general layout, striped fishtails, orientation of stripes, flower, flourish. The green/white striped paper is DP. The flourish and center of the flower were die-cut using matte foil DP. The foil dots were created by the negative of a die-cut.

Hope you're having a fun evening.

Time Out - Flower - thanks

Greetings!

Following is my post for two challenges:

Time Out Challenge 68 - CASEing Ardyth

Flower Challenge 1 - "Anything Goes" with Florals

The flowers and leaves are from MFT - Blissful Blooms stamps. I used fall tones of yellow, red, oranges to color using Copic markers. A few flowers were masked to add a small portion of the leaf. A couple of paintings of clear WOS on the flowers and leaves enriches the colors. A white Gelly Roll pen was used to outline the centers of the flowers. The sentiment is die-cut using three layers. A few gold sequins complete the card.

We would love you to display our banner !Hope you're having a pleasant day.

OLS - Blowing Birthday Wishes ...

Greetings!

Today, I'm sharing my card for the One Layer Simplicity Challenge 32 where Karen is challenging us to use red, orange and yellow. I took an ombre approach by stamping the sentiment in Red Hot, the candles in Orange Zest and the flames in Lemon Drop. For a little texture and shine I used clear embossing powder and heat embossed. Since I stamped with dye ink, I embossed after stamping each color. An extra touch was created by stamping the hearts in the flames with red dye ink and heat embossing.  (Actually, I stamped the hearts/heat embossed after heat embossing the flames ... gives a little more texture to the flames.)

Hope you're having a pleasant day.

Today, I'm playing cards with Muse Challenge #187. Tracey, the hostess, has provided us another one of her gorgeous flower creations for our inspirations. From Tracey's card I chose to use similar layout, flowers, colors to create my rendition. The flowers are colored with Copic markers. MCV - 'Tis the Season

Hello Everyone,

Today, playing cards at Muse: ChristmasVisions 65.  Kimberly, the hostess this week, has presented a fantastic card with her own designed sock monkey that is so cute. From Kimberly's card I used an animal critter, water color feature, touch of red, similar layoutThe blue portion of the circle was ink blended using Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.  The sentiment was stamped in red ink. The entire circle was over sprayed with a white shimmer that creates the white water-color look on the blue. The panda is having so much fun he almost did a face plant in the snow slopes!! A few clear star gems were added for additional sparkle.

Hope you're having a great day.

Muse - Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Everyone!

Today, I'm sharing my card with Muse where Anita is the hostess this week. She provided us a beautiful card for our inspirations. I chose to use patterned paper, foliage, vellum, brown-toned sentiment. My card base and top panel are cream colored that seem to blend well with the patterned paper of muted orange, gold and off white thin stripes. The leaves were die-cut and two of them inlaid. On one leaf I left in some of the bits, the middle leaf is backed with vellum to give the patterned paper a muted look and the third leaf is an embossed die cut. The sentiment was stamped in brown pigment ink, topped with clear embossing powder and heat embossed. A few gold sequins with orange gem stones in the centers were added for some sparkle.

Hope you're having a wonderful day.
