Muse - just a note

Hello!

Hope you're having a wonderful day.  It's time for some fun at Muse Card Challenge #222 where Kim has provided an adorable card for our inspirations. My card is a close CASE ... I was inspired to use an arch shaped die-cut; bee, flowers, colors, ink blending, sequins. The bee was stamped and masked before the background colors were blended. The flowers and stems were stamped and die-cut.  All images were colored with Prismacolor pencils. Clear WOS was applied to the bee's wings and to the flowers for shimmer. Sparkle was added to the flower centers with clear sequins.

Muse - Congratulations ...

Hi Everyone,
Time to play at Muse ... Jenni provided our inspiration this week with a fantastic thank-you themed card ... unfortunately, she is leaving the Muse team ... always enjoy her CAS cards. Jenni, I believe you were one of the first who commented on my blog when I first started ... I will always remember that.  Look forward to periodically visiting your blog ... wish you and your hubs the best in your new adventure.

My rendition of Jenni's card is celebratory themed and includes sentiments, colors, square design. The mat was colored to match the hearts. Some of the sentiments were masked and ink blended with the pink and yellow colors. For shimmer the hearts and the edge of the blue mat are painted with a few coats of clear WOS.

MCV - May Your Holidays Sparkle

Hi All!

Hope you're having an enjoyable summer.  Even with the hot, hot weather (120 F in Yuma, AZ, USA, a couple days ago), Christmas cards are on my mind.

Time to play cards at Muse ChristmasVisions 81 ... Chriss provided us a fun card with non-traditional Christmas colors. My rendition includes general layout and center placed sentiment. For the colors I opted for the traditional ... gold, red, green. The stars were colored with Prismacolor Pencils and painted with a few coats of clear WOS. A clear sequin is adhered to the centers of the small stars for extra sparkle.

MFT - Camp Create - Sensational Sliders - Hey You

Hi All!

Another fun day at camp ... today we learned about sensational sliders. My card is interactive ... the tag pulls out of the 'jeans' pocket. Faded Denim Distress Ink was used to create a bleached/stonewashed look. A couple of 'rivets' and the 'yay' pocket tag were added. This could be a congratulatory themed card for a male teen/young adult ... the theme continues inside the card.

MFT Summer Camp - Glitzy Glitter - You're the Best

Hello Everyone!

Another fun summer camp activity at MFT - Glitzy Glitter.  My card includes a butterfly die cut from four colors of glitter paper.  The dry embossed 'quilted' panel was achieved by using the Stripes CU (two passes through the Big Shot ... the second time with the CU turned 90 degrees) then cut with a pierced rectangle die.

MFT - Divine Dry Embossing - You Make My Heart Melt

Hello Everyone!

Another fun camp activity at MFT Summer Camp ... dry embossing using a die cut

My inspiration for this card came from Inge who makes the most fascinating layered cards.  Since this is camp week, I decided to try one to include a dry embossed feature. The embossed heart was created using the Hugs and Kisses CU plate die and cut with a pierced heart die-cut. The penguin's swim trunks were altered by drawing white lines with a Gelly Roll pen. Patterned paper with small hearts adds to the card's theme. The white tip of the Creamsicle was painted with a few coats of clear WOS.

MFT Camp Create - Spectacular Shakers - Awesome

Hello Everyone,

Playing in summer camp at MFT ... today we are learning about/making a shaker card.  My card is clean and layered. On a piece of DP the sentiment was heat embossed in silver. Pink, silver and clear sequins were added for the shaker components. A small die-cut heart was added for interest. The stitched framed die and a piece of acetate were used to create the shaker enclosure.

MFT Camp Create 2 - Warm Wishes

Greetings!

Day 2 of MFT Camp is Remarkable Resist

For my card I was inspired by a card included on the insert for the Doodle Blooms Card Kit with a few changes ... colors, splatters, sentiment, different leaves. I began by white ink stamping/white heat embossing flowers and leaves onto card stock. Then, I blended dye ink to achieve the sherbet colors for the flowers and leaves. Corresponding die cuts were used to cut the flowers and leaves. Colored pencils were used for some shading/depth on the flowers. Splatters in the flower colors were added for interest. Sequins were added for sparkle.

Camp Create 1 - Watercolor - Thank You

Greetings!
Today, I'm participating in Day 1 of MFT Camp Create - Wonderful Watercolor. For my panel I was inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video - Wrapped Watercolor.  I wanted to see the outcome using different products (inexpensive 110 lb. cardstock, distress inks, small amount of water). Using the ink cubes I smeared various colors of Distress Inks on card stock; spritzed with water and covered with plastic wrap ...  dabbing the plastic wrap made the pattern in the background. In her video the recommendation was to leave the plastic wrap on until the card stock had dried (she used water color paper, water colors, generous amount of water). I chose to remove the plastic wrap and let the panel air dry. The sentiment was stamped/heat embossed in white.  A few clear sequins add sparkle.

This was a very quick card to make.

Muse - Happiest of Birthdays

Hi Everyone,

Another fun challenge at Muse ... Anita, this week's designer, provided a stunner in corals (my fav) and black. My rendition includes colors and black flora. The coral panel was achieved by ink blending Candied Apple Distress Ink. The mottled look was achieved by blotting a wipe over a stencil. For the flower ... a stamp from the MFT Distressed Pattern collection was used repeatedly/randomly to stamp the stripes then the pattern was stamped/die-cut with the flower. The centers of the petals were colored with a Copic marker. A few paintings of clear WOS were added to the flower for shimmer. For interest a patterned embellishment was added to the flower center, and a few clear rhinestones add sparkle.
