CAS Stencil - Baby Wipes - Happy Birthday

Hello!

Love the creative challenge ... CAS Stencil - Baby Wipes.

For my "baby wipe" card, I blended Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks to create a coral colored panel.  Then, I placed the flower stencil over the coral panel and lifted the ink from the petals using baby wipes.  (In Arizona, USA, with low humidity baby wipes can become dry even when placed in Ziploc bags, so I had to moisten the wipes with water.)  To create definition the petals and center were outlined using white ink.  For interest, white ink was added to the petals and light gems were added to center of the flower.  To continue with the gold color, a small strip of matte gold DP was added to the bottom of the frame and the sentiment was stamped in gold and heat embossed with clear EP.  A pierced square die was used to emboss a frame around the opening.

CAS Mixup - Inchies - HUGS

Hello!

CAS Mixup - Inchies

You have the most creative challenge ... it is fun trying the techniques.

For my Inchies card, I embossed a panel using an XOXO cutting plate, then cut three inchies that were adhered to a black card stock background.  Hearts go well with XOXO ... a piece of alcohol ink panel was perfect from which to die cut hearts.  To complete the theme, a HUGS sentiment was stamped.  When I was arranging the pieces, the background needed something ... small splotches were created using a stencil and distress oxide ink in a color that blends with the orange color in the hearts.

CAS Mixup and CAS Watercolour - Enjoy Your Day

Hello!

Sharing second card to CAS Mixup (Paper Towel) and CAS Watercolour (Butterflies).  My card used the inky paper towel (1st offspring on the butterfly and 2nd offspring in the circle.  The butterfly was inked with Versamark and heat embossed with clear/sparkle EP.  To add definition/shadow to the butterfly, a black die cut of the butterfly was offset underneath the water colored one. Light grey gems were adhered to the spine of the butterfly.

CAS Watercolour - the butterfly and circle center are the results of sopping distress inks sprayed with water from a card panel.

CAS Watercolour - Colorful Butterflies - just a note

Hello!

Another fun challenge is underway on the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge blog ... Colourful Butterflies.  For my card the butterflies were die cut from the first offspring of my paper towel mixed media used for the challenge at CAS Mixup.  A card panel was inked with two colors (Broken China and Peacock Feathers) Distress Oxide inks, liberally sprayed with water, and the rich colors/liquid sopped up with a folded paper towel.  The richest colored paper towel offspring was used to die-cut the butterflies.  Before the die cutting, the paper towel panel was inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear/sparkly EP.  To add interest part of the card panel was textured with a Gross Grain texture plate. A sentiment in the same colors at the butterflies was added. A yellow-colored gem was placed in the center of each butterfly.

Processes used - water color, paper towel, die-cutting, stamping, heat embossing, texturing

CAS Mixup - Paper Towel - Oh Happy Day!

Hello!

A fun challenge at CAS Mixup ... use paper towel.  Since I had no inky paper towels on hand, I made some by inking a card panel with two colors (Broken China and Peacock Feathers) of Distress Oxide ink, spraying liberally with water and sopping up the rich colors with a folded paper towel.  This resulted in 4 paper towel offspring (the paper towel is 2-ply).  The first one with the richest colors was used that was glued to a piece of card stock.  Before die cutting the butterfly, the panel was inked with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with clear and sparkly EP.  The paper towel and the heat embossing created an interesting texture that is very sparkly.  A die cut was used to make the perforations.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed following the lines of the perforations.  The die cut butterfly was adhered using foam tape.  The panel was adhered using foam tape to enable more definition to the perforations.

Enjoyed this mixed media challenge.

Processes used - paper towel, water coloring, die-cutting, stamping, heat embossing.

CAS Stencil - Smile

Greetings!

Playing in the CAS Stencil - Alcohol Lift/Alcohol Inks challenge.  On an AI background in my pile the ink was lifted using rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball dabbed through a sunflower stencil. A section of the alcohol-lifted panel was selected for the card. A die cut sentiment was added. The overlay panel was raised using foam tape. A pierced die-cut frame was added for interest.

Twofer - Garden

Greetings!

Today, it is play day at Twofer - Garden Challenge. My conventional entries include a Cutting Garden (Hello There) and a Container Garden (Happiest of Birthdays) using 3 stamps on each from the MFT Doodle Blooms (retired).  (If only one stamp is allowed, the default is to the largest bloom.) In the Cutting Garden the centers of the blooms were embellished with gold sequins. All images were colored using Prismacolor Pencils. For the Container Garden the blooms were stamped/masked.  The container was created using a (present) stamp from a MFT birthday collection.

CAS Watercolour - cheers to you

Hello!

Just picked this peony bouquet from my garden for Darnell's birthday!  The celebration is on the CAS Watercolour Challenge blog. This bouquet was created by stamping and masking, dabbing Distress Oxide inks with a dauber and cotton swab in two shades of pink Distress Oxide ink, spitzing with water to make the colors run/blotting with a paper towel, then painting with clear Wink of Stella to make the colors run a little more. The leaves were colored using the same process (although no WOS on them). The bouquet was masked to blend the back ground then lightly spritzed. The sentiments were stamped over the bottom of the bouquet. Extra sparkle, of course, was created using silver sequins.

CAS Stencil and Mixup - Thinking of You

Hello!

Playing in the following challenges:
.. CAS Mixup- alcohol lift, plus stamping, die cutting
.. CAS Stencil - alcohol lift alcohol/alcohol ink
Placed the flower stencil over a red AI panel in my pile. Lifted the ink with rubbing alcohol and cotton ball until almost white. Then using a blending tool, sponged Wild Plum ink through the stencil petals. The flower center is Ranger AI Dandelion.  Lifted the stencil and noticed that some of the alcohol seeped under the stencil during the lift off process ... this worked OK ... added lighter color definition around the flower.

CAS Mixup - Celebrate

Greetings,

The CAS Mixup designers have a fun challenge to use "baby wipes" in our card process. In addition to the "baby wipes" and stamping, the card includes die cut and heat embossing. My baby wipes were transformed into "stamp pad" with the application of dye inks in Red Hot, Orange Zest, Ripe Raspberry. The flowers were stamped on the stamp pad then onto card stock a number of times. Then, the flowers were over stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed using clear EP with some sparkle EP (the two have become mixed in my container).  Using the companion dies, the flowers were die-cut. The center of the flower was stamped and heat set. The card was completed with a large sentiment and clear sequins.
