happy birthday
My card for the CASology and Runway Inspired Challenges uses festive colors of red, white, black with a touch of green. Sparkle was added to the die-cut sentiment by applying clear WOS.
For CASology I translated the cue word "merry" to "happy" for a birthday card.
For RIC I believe the inspirations from the photo are obvious.

Holiday Blessings
My card for this challenge with inspiration provided by Betty's lovely card. I was inspired by the simplicity of her design, colors, oval, shimmer/shine and center-placed image/sentiment. In lieu of splatters, I randomly placed microscopic-sized dots (the negatives from a MFT die) around the tree. In addition to the shine from the dots, I cut an oval frame from gold foil. The oval and frame are inlaid.

CASology and Muse Challenge
A SPECIAL GIFT JUST FOR YOU
The inspiration for my card came from this adorable card designed by Michele. She challenged us to emboss, color and use a fun character or two or three ... The inspirations used on my card are:
--colors (red, black and white)
--heat and dry embossing (swirly pattern, sentiment and panda)
--fun character (panda)
--white sentiment
The panda was altered by attaching a red sparkly heart.
A big applause to Michele on her one-year milestone as a member of the Muse Challenge design team.
This card is entered in the Muse Card Challenge and CASology (cue word Toy).

Joy
Our Muse this week, Kimberly, provided a very sparkly, shiny, colorful festive card. From her card I used:
--colors
--sparkle and shine
--black card base
--holly
The shine and sparkle on my card includes foil DP, WOS, Glossy Accents and rhinestones. For the Joy and berries I applied 3-4 coats of WOS then covered with Glossy Accents ... they are sparkly.

CASology 176 Tree
PEACE
The title of the stamp that I used is "It's a Christmas Tree" ... fitting for this week's challenge. Even a bare, almost-dead tree (a few green needles are still attached) deserves a little sparkle ... added WOS to the ornaments and a touch of gold Stickles to the rope tie. A very thin strip of gold separates the DPs used to ground the image.

Muse Card Challenge 145
Joy.Joy.Joy.Joy
Our muse this week is Joan who provided a precious card for our inspirations. This is Joan's last Muse (your cards have been a wonderful inspiration) ... she's headed for other adventures. In my stash I found the perfect pink paper with a subtle pattern ... I thought it would look extra special by embossing it ... well, it was like the pattern disappeared ... good thing I liked the dots!!
Joan's card provided the following inspirations for mine:
--color theme
--embossed pink panel instead of stickles
--silver cord in place of twine cord
--glitter paper in place of Stickles
--rhinestones in place of sequins
Thank you for looking and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Happy Birthday to You!
Muse Card Challenge 144
For this week's muse, Ardyth's charming daughter, Kate, provided our inspiration with her fun card with colorful, playful elements. I like how she was inspired by the gift card. And, I like how she stepped up to the occasion to be the muse. Way to go, Kate.
My card uses similar colors, CAS design, birthday sentiment in black, small stamped elements. I colored the flowers with Copic markers, then applied a few white dots for interest and some WOS for a little sparkle.

Peace on Earth
This card is for the following two challenges:
Muse: ChristmasVisions 31 where Chriss provided us a beautiful black, cream and gold inspiration. My card includes the same color scheme, black panel, white flower, white sentiment, red heart and gold foil accents. The little red heart on Chriss' card caught my attention, so I used one, too.
The Challenge #53 where we are inspired to make a non-traditional Christmas card with no red or green (oops!! ... the heart has a little red on it!!).
The gold outline beneath the flower was created from pieces of flourishes randomly placed/glued.

merry christmas
Muse: ChristmasVisions 30
This week's MCV is a fun one ... make a Christmas tag using red, green and a tree or other Christmas greenery and a tie-in with Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Ardyth's card was my inspiration start for her CAS style, inlaid tree and off-set red panel. I chose to go very CAS with a white tag with red off set, green foil tree with diagonal interest, sentiment in black ink, red/white twine and red rhinestones. The green foil was first die-cut with the MFT - Die-namics Stripe Coverup, all the parts were glued to paper, then the tree was die-cut with the stripes on the diagonal. The tree was inlaid into the tag (it doesn't look like it because of its thickness). I make my tags at least double thickness ... that way they can be used as a book mark.

OWL only have eyes for you!
CASology 174 - Owl
Meet my card for this challenge. I wanted to use wiggly eyes on the owls and used an appropriate sentiment that is computer generated. On the balloons I added a small rhinestone to each for the reflection point (the white reflective mark originally used disappeared with the use of the Glossy Accents). I mirror stamped the owls that turned out OK (not perfect ... it was a first), so I went with it.

Muse Challenge #143
Tracey provided a very fun card that really made me think. Inspirations from her card that I used are:
--red and white
--reindeer (Rudolph)
--in lieu of ornament I used a balloon
--similar design ... I flipped with the balloon at upper left and sentiment on bottom right
--used gold in the stars
Rudolph is showing his best wearing a red sweater with white dots adorned with Stickles for a little sparkle and a big red enamel dot for his nose.

Pinterest Inspired Challenge
The inspiration for this challenge is stunning. My interpretation includes a distress ink background, die-cut and inlaid flowers, use of gold foil for the flower centers and sentiment. A few lilac pearl dots are added for interest. IRL the colors are much richer. Unfortunately, the photo/lighting make the colors appear lighter.

May all your Christmas dreams come true
Muse: ChristmasVisions 29
The very talented Betty provided us with our inspirations this week. The rich red, gold and white colors had my attention. Also, the general layout on my card is similar. Instead of using a gold sentiment, I chose to inlay a gold foil strip between the red and white panels. My card includes some stamped holly. For a little sparkle and interest, I added WOS to the holly berries and stars and gold dots. For added dimension the main panel is double thickness.

Little Love Note
Muse Challenge 142
Our lovely inspiration for us this week was provided by Anita. The elements from her card that had my attention are:
--color theme
--use of heart
--heart-felt sentiment
--tag (pierced instead of stitched)
In lieu of the embossed lines the blue card panel has an embossed edge from the die-cut. The tag and panel are double thickness (instead of the foam tape) for added dimension. The heart is inlaid and covered with some WOS for a little glitter. To finish, I added a few small rhinestones in the same color palette for an extra sparkle.
For the main panel I did a water-color look by using Peacock Feathers Distress ink. The darker marks were made by flicking some of the ink (I had more splatters other places than my card panel ... must practice more!!)
Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is most appreciated.

Muse: ChristmasVisions 28
The very talented Chriss is our muse this week, and she provided us a card with a jewel-tone teal green panel. I love jewel tones, and that's what I used on my card by blending Distress inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers). In addition to the teal green panel, other details from Chriss' card that I used are the white frame, white sentiment, and similar layout. The sentiment includes a red layer between the white layers ... may be hard to see in the photo. To capture some of the other colors I die-cut a flourish in three colors, then cut pieces and adhered offset. A little clear Wink of Stella and a few red pearls were added for embellishments.

Our muse this week is the very talented Michele who provided a beautiful card for our inspirations and challenged us to include the following on our card:
--water coloring - I used three colors of distress inks and sprayed with water to achieve a water-color effect
--heat embossed image - flower is stamped with Versamark and distress inks, clear embossed and heat set
--dry embossing - used a stencil for a subtle pattern on the white panel (difficult to see in the photo)
--thank you sentiment - achieved a similar color as the grey card stock by stamping with blue, then black, then blue

Twelve Tags of Christmas
I heard about this challenge from Darnell's blog and thought it would be fun to play. Gorgeous tags have been posted, and I enjoyed each one. I believe my tag meets the basic requirements of
--stamp
--ink
and the additional details of texture/dimension
--scalloped edges
--heat embossing
--rhinstone gems
--gold foil and cord
In real life the base of the tag is a jewel-tone green achieved by blending Ranger Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers).

Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search - DECEMBER
My tag submitted for the guest designer search. I made this tag for one of my grandsons who is a teenager. When he last visited, he wore the most colorful "happy" socks. I think the Quick Quips stamps work well for teenagers ... for this tag I used three of them and the colors from a pair of his socks. I made the tag double thickness, so it can be used as a book mark.

In my card I tried to capture Ardyth's fondness for square card base, CAS/graphic style and use of rainbow of colors while making the card my own. A little sparkle was added to the small red heart with clear wink of Stella. It may be hard to see in the photo, but the heart is lightly embossed with puzzle pieces.
I'm also submitting to the CASology challenge with the cue word "give,"

Peace on Earth
Muse: ChristmasVisions 27
Kimberly provided us a very fun card (the expression on the cat's face is priceless) for our muse this week. My stamp collection provided no stamps, etc., that were close to her card ... yet, I still wanted to play in this fun challenge. With that I chose to focus on:
--the color of kitty and the ornaments (I used rhinestones to capture these colors)
--a flourish in green (in lieu of the fir limb)
--a bird (in lieu of kitty)
Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is most appreciated.
Products:
Card Stock - Recollections
Stamps - MFT; unknown and never used from stash
Inks - Colorbox - dye and pigment
Embellishments - rhinestones from stash; Wink of Stella - clear

One in a Million
Muse Challenge 139
This friendly monster stopped on my card stock upside down, so that was the starting point for the Muse challenge. The very talented Ardyth provided us such a fun card using pandas. Although I don't have pandas, a few details from her card had my attention ...
--the black, white and red color theme
--the balloon situated off the edge of the panel
--the main card panel shortened a little
--a celebratory/uplifting sentiment
This card will be for one of my grandsons who are both avid soccer players. (The older grandson will receive a similar card in his college school colors.)

Season's Greetings

For this week Birgit provided us a treat with two fantastic cards for our inspirations. Her card with the yellow round panel caught my interest. I thought Rudolph fit perfectly in the yellow circle. The inspirations from that card that I used on mine are:
--square card with frame
--yellow circle and other similar colors
--wildlife
--a gem

Sending a Flurry of Love
CASology 170: Heart
Meet my card for this challenge ... so many possibilities with the cue word of heart. Colored the hearts the same reds used on her coat and scarf. Added a little Wink of Stella to the hearts for some sparkle, and white Gelly Roll to her cuffs and pom-pom to make them extra white.
Thank you for looking and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.
