Muse - GD - Just a Note

Muse Challenge 180 - Guest Designer

What an honor to GD for Muse ... a big shout-out to Ardyth who invited me for this week.

For my card I had a couple things in mind ... I wanted to use at least one technique that was new to me and for the card to be easy to make. Maybe it was because I took my time, but this card was created on the first attempt ... a big accomplishment!!

I'm looking forward to seeing and commenting on your creations. Following are the steps for the card and some notes.

Wish you a pleasant day!
Marilyn

Step 1. The colors on the main panel were created by randomly stamping four colors of Distress Ink on an acrylic block, spritzing with water, applying the block to the card stock, and blotting with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This process was repeated a few times to achieve the desired colors, pattern, etc. In between the steps, I let the card stock dry naturally.

Step 2. The black images were stamped using MFT - Licorice Hybrid Ink.

Step 3. The white image and sentiment were stamped using MFT - White Pigment Ink and heat embossed with Stampendous White Embossing Powder.

Step 4. The colored panel was mounted onto black card stock, then adhered to a white card stock base.

Notes - The ink blending technique was new to me, although not new in the paper crafting community. So that I had an idea where to start, I viewed a few videos. For some steps I spritzed just a little water and others more water ... this creates some interesting 'textures' in the colors. Stamping and embossing in white was finally a success on this card. I concluded it just takes good quality products. My card stock is not water color paper. It is 110 lb. card stock from Michaels. It did not warp.

Card Stock - Recollections
Dies - MFT - Die-namics
Stamps - Inkadinkadoo; MFT
Inks - Ranger - Distress (Fired Brick, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey); MFT - Hybrid and Pigment
EP - Stampendous
