CAS Mixup - Tic-Tac-Toe - CAS Watercolour - One in a Million

Hello All!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

Today, I have a card for a couple of challenges:

CAS Mixup Card Challenge - use tissue paper, stamping and choice (dry and heat embossing, die-cut, water-color smooshing)

Tic Tac Toe - TTTC005 - my card includes pearls, die-cut, butterfly (middle across)

The butterfly was created by wrinkling a piece of pink tissue paper (repurposed from MFT packing) then gluing to a piece of cardstock. (I glue the tissue paper to the card stock first, because I was concerned that I would tear it when it was wet). When the glue was dry, the tissue paper panel was smooshed into Distress Inks sprayed with water. When dry, the smooshed panel was stamped with Versamark Ink/heat embossed with clear EP ... this process helped show the 'wrinkles' in the tissue paper. (Actually, this was a practice piece after watching Loll's video ... I liked the outcome so used it.) Then, the panel was die-cut with a butterfly die. A pierced square panel was used to stamp the sentiment to follow the curve of one of the butterfly wings. For additional interest, the pierced panel and butterfly were offset, three pink pearls were added to the butterfly, and three embossed score lines were added to the bottom of the card stock.

CAS Watercolour Challenge - Butterfly - also submitting to this challenge ... thank you, Bonnie.

Enjoyed the tissue paper process ... easy and straightforward ... will use it again.

  1. Oh. My. Goodness!! That butterfly is just gorgeous, Marilyn!! I'm so glad you explained this technique, and after seeing this fabulous creation, I might now have the courage to give it a try. The pearls, the curved sentiment, and those embossed lines really add interest without detracting from that butterfly. Fantastic card. Bev
