Greetings!
So honored to have a GD gig at TIME OUT Challenges. Thank you DT for selecting my card a couple of weeks ago and including me. Our inspiration is the following quote:
'When it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark, look for stars.'
My card focuses on rainbow colors and stars. The candles are inked using dye and distress inks and heat embossed. Each candle represents one of the colors in the rainbow. Instead of using flames I chose to use star-shaped sequins. Each sequin has a gem in the middle that matches its respective candle color. The sentiment is inked and heat embossed in white on a strip of black card stock.
Hope you're having a wonderful day. Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

CAS Mix-up - Happy Birthday
Hello Everyone,
Today, I'm playing in the CAS Mix-up Card Challenge ... 1st Birthday Celebration. Cards are to includes stamping, smooshing plus choice. My card includes smooshing with alcohol inks (on photo paper), stamping/embossing on vellum, die-cut, use of gems. The background was created using green and blue shades and the blending solution of Copic re-inkers. A die-cut butterfly and blue rhinestones that match the blue in the panel were added.
This was my first try smooshing with alcohol inks ... the colors are so rich.
Hope you're having a great day. Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Muse - Yay, You! Happy Birthday
Greetings!
Playing cards at Muse Challenge #206 where Anita has provided a stunning card for our inspirations. For my rendition I chose to use Cone Flowers and colors. I love the hybrid Cone Flowers in the coral shades, so I made the background panel coral using a combination of Distress Inks. The flowers were masked/stamped. Some pink highlights were added to the flower petals and the top of the cone. Black dots were added to the flowers' cones. The black coloring beneath the flowers was done to cover black smudges made during the stamping process. A couple coats of clear WOS were applied to the black area. The card panel was adhered to pink polka dot DP.
Hope your day is wonderful.

TIME OUT - You Were Meant to Shine
Greetings!
Hope you're having a wonderful day.
Time to play at TIME OUT where they are having a 3rd birthday celebration with the theme of Love and/or Friendship with the optional technique twist of spotlight stamping.
For my card I repeatedly masked/stamped a flower using black hybrid ink and chose to color one of the flowers in shades of red. The colored flower area was die-cut using a pierced square die and stacked on three layers of black card stock. To coordinate with the sentiment the flower was painted with a few coats of clear WOS and rhinestone gems were added to the center.

Muse - Hi Friend
Hope you're having a wonderful day!
Today, it's card playing time at Muse Challenge #205. Michelle Lupton, the guest designer, provided a beautiful inspirational card. For my card I included the layout, two-colored sentiment, similar colors and water color aspect. Also, I was inspired to use a leaf stamp in a way that I may not have thought of doing.
Marilyn
The steps for creating my card ...
- Blended Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks
- Stamped the leaf repeatedly in white pigment ink and heat embossed with white EP (MISTI was my friend!!)
- Used Copics to add some deeper blues and greens and a touch of yellow
- Spritzed water on craft mat and smooshed panel to create the water color ... this was done about three times
- Die-cut the 'hi' sentiment in Midnight Navy and inlaid
- Stamped the 'friend' sentiment using both colors of Distress Ink
- Attached the panel to Midnight Navy and mounted on white card base
- Added a few silver sequins
