Greetings Everyone!
Today, I started with a card for Muse ... then, it happened to work for CASology, AAA Cards and NBUS.
Muse Card Challenge 181 - Sarah Platt provided us a fantastic card for our inspirations. My inspirations translated to an almost-CASE - colors, heart, layout, yellow strip at bottom, black strip. I loved her die-cut heart so I made my own rendition by doing water color smooshing/swooshing with yellow, green, blue Distress inks. Then, I used a cutting plate and a black ball-point pen to make the pattern. Then, I thought the heart could use some sparkle,so a couple coats of clear WOS were applied.
CASology 213 - Stitch. The heart and bottom strip are stitched.
AAA Cards Challenge #72 - New Technique. My new technique is the pattern I made on the heart using a cutting plate and black ball-point pen.
NBUS #7 Challenge - part of the sentiment and the black glitter paper (the package that included this paper had never been open ... of course, I had to have it when I bought it a couple years ago!!) are my NBUS. This is a fun challenge hosted by Darnell.
Hope your day is enjoyable.
Thank you for visiting ... always appreciate your feedback.

MCV - Addicted to Stamps and More - Happy Holidays
Hello Everyone!
A couple of challenges:
Muse: ChristmasVisions 59
Addicted to Stamps and More - Holiday
Today, playing cards with MCV where GD Meredith MacRitchie provided a beautiful card for our inspirations. I like tags on cards, although I seem to struggle with size, etc., on mine. From Michelle's card I used hand stamped flower background panel, tag with scallop edge, red and black sentiment with part of the sentiment die cut, vellum, general layout. My main panel was created using a ghosting technique (randomly stamp images with white pigment ink, let dry thoroughly, apply/blend colored ink with a blending tool). The centers of the flowers were stamped with gold Delicata ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Also, linking to Addicted to Stamps and More where the theme is holiday.
Wish you an enjoyable day!

Muse - GD - Just a Note
Muse Challenge 180 - Guest Designer
What an honor to GD for Muse ... a big shout-out to Ardyth who invited me for this week.
For my card I had a couple things in mind ... I wanted to use at least one technique that was new to me and for the card to be easy to make. Maybe it was because I took my time, but this card was created on the first attempt ... a big accomplishment!!
I'm looking forward to seeing and commenting on your creations. Following are the steps for the card and some notes.
Wish you a pleasant day!
Marilyn
Step 1. The colors on the main panel were created by randomly stamping four colors of Distress Ink on an acrylic block, spritzing with water, applying the block to the card stock, and blotting with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This process was repeated a few times to achieve the desired colors, pattern, etc. In between the steps, I let the card stock dry naturally.
Step 2. The black images were stamped using MFT - Licorice Hybrid Ink.
Step 3. The white image and sentiment were stamped using MFT - White Pigment Ink and heat embossed with Stampendous White Embossing Powder.
Step 4. The colored panel was mounted onto black card stock, then adhered to a white card stock base.
Notes - The ink blending technique was new to me, although not new in the paper crafting community. So that I had an idea where to start, I viewed a few videos. For some steps I spritzed just a little water and others more water ... this creates some interesting 'textures' in the colors. Stamping and embossing in white was finally a success on this card. I concluded it just takes good quality products. My card stock is not water color paper. It is 110 lb. card stock from Michaels. It did not warp.

Greetings!
Muse: ChristmasVisions 58
This week Cornelia provided a stunning card for our inspirations. My rendition is a CAS version that includes color scheme and one deer colored in black with white features. A light painting of clear WOS adds some interest to the slopes. A few pale lavender gem stones dot the mostly lavender sky.
Hope you're having a pleasant day!

Muse Card Challenge #179
Today, I'm playing cards with Jenni who is this week's muse. She provided us a sparkly CAS birthday card for our inspiration. My rendition includes general layout, rainbow of colors, sparkle.
Jenni, I know what you mean by having to redo a card that seems easy to create. Frequently, mine go to the 'round file' or I'm looking for an embellishment to cover my oops! Somehow, I managed to complete this card the first time ... a big yea!!
Wish you a pleasant day.

MFT - hello
Greetings!
Playing cards with ...
MFT - Camp Create 3 - Stunning Shadow Stamping
The main panel is MFT Red Hot card stock. Using Flashy Florals stamps first I inked with MFT - Pigment White Ink and stamped. Then, I inked with MFT Red Hot Dye Ink and stamped offset over the white. This lets the white and red show as shadows on the images. Before adding the sentiment and sequins, I die-cut with a MFT die and adhered to white card stock. The sentiment was cut from a MFT Die-namics in white card stock and layered three times for some dimension. Sparkle was added with silver sequins with a pearl adhered to the center of each.
Wish you a fun summer day!

Playing in a couple of challenges ...
MFT - Camp Create 3- Divine Dry Embossing
Muse: ChristmasVisions 57
My card was inspired by Chriss the muse at MCV this week. From her card I chose to use green background (under the stamped wreath), wreath, same-word sentiment, layout.
The green circle element was ink blended using three colors of green Distress inks. Then, the circle was embossed with the MFT Pierced Circle STAX die. The next step was to stamp the wreath in the green circle. A small MFT Pierced Circle STAX die was used to emboss a small circle impression in the center of the wreath (in the photo it's difficult to see the embossed definitions but they are there!!). A few 'berries', gems, sequins, clear WOS were added for holiday sparkle.

LIM - MFT - hello friend
Greetings Everyone!
Playing cards in a couple of challenges ...
Less is More - Challenge #288 Colour - Blue and Brown
MFT - Camp Create 3 - Awesome Ombre
The background was created by using two cuts from a background die and offsetting the pieces to make a stencil. Two colors of Distress Ink (Salty Ocean and Vintage Photo) were ink blended over the stencil to create the pattern. The 'hello' part of the sentiment was created from a piece of scrap to blot the blending tool ... I liked it better than the one I worked so hard to make!! A few coats of clear glaze were applied to the 'hello' to provide some shine.
Hope you're having an enjoyable day!

MCV56 - Peace and Joy to you and yours
Muse: ChristmasVisions 56
Greetings Christmas Card Crafters!
This week Kimberly who is our muse provided us a water-colored gem for our inspirations. From Kimberly's card I chose a similar layout and colors, sentiment that includes 'Joy' stamped on the blue-hued panel, black silhouette with yellow behind it.
The blue-hued panel was created using a stencil made from a snow slopes die and ink blended with Distress inks in blues, pinks, purples (the pink doesn't show well but it's there!). The black silhouette is die-cut from a sky line die. The yellow is ink blended with Distress inks. The star and gems were added to cover an oops!!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Celebrate - for the 6th Anniversary of the Monday Challenge.
Greetings!
I chose to make a card with bright tropical colors. The main panel was achieved by stamping Distress Ink on an acrylic block, spritzing with water, applying to card stock, blotting with a paper towel and repeating the process until the desired color blend was achieved. Using a background birthday stamp I second-generation stamped on the panel. A flower was stamped in the upper left corner and a 'celebrate you' sentiment was stamped both with MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink. The panel was die-cut with part of the flower cut off. A diagonally-striped strip was added. For a touch of sparkle, gem stones in the colors of the ink were added to the flower center.

Muse 177 - hello my friend
Hello Everyone!
Muse Card Challenge 177
Today, playing cards with Anita Bowden who is this week's muse. Anita provided us a beautiful shaker card for our inspirations. From her card I used a butterfly, color hue, shaker element. For the butterfly I ink blended and water spritzed to achieve the water color look. The butterfly is die-cut, inlaid and backed with vellum. Assorted colors of sequins make up the shaker elements. I like how the vellum mutes the bright colors. I wanted the butterfly to sparkle, so I added a few coats of clear WOS that makes the color pop and purple gems to the round features on the wings.
Hope you're having a pleasant day.

Greetings!
Two firsts - playing in the One Layer Simplicity Challenge with my first one-layer card. The challenge this month is August Art - my card includes art inspired/themed sentiments.
First, I cut a piece of card stock using the MFT - Die-namics Snow Drifts Cover-up. That piece was used as a stencil to create the background by applying/ink blending three colors of Distress Inks (Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade). Second, using the Blossom Stamp Set (Precious Remembrance) I stamped the flower and art-related sentiments in black. Third, a sequin that matches/blends with the background colors was added to the flower center.

CASology - CAS Mixup - Addicted to Stamps and More - Fluttering By
Greetings Everyone!
I started by making a card for one challenge that grew into three challenges! They are:
CASology 209 - Watercolor is the cue word.
CAS Mixup - Stamping + Sprays + Choice (water coloring, stenciling, die-cutting, heat embossing)
Addicted to Stamps and More #205 - Photo Inspiration
The water colored main panel was created using two colors of Distress Ink (Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers), stamping them on an acrylic block and spraying with water, then applying the block onto card stock. I did this process three to four times to achieve the rich jewel tone color. I let the card stock dry naturally between applications.
For the next step I stamped using gold ink, a background scattered dots stamp, clear embossing powder - the result was insignificant. So, I decided to use Gold Shimmer Spray using a stencil to achieve the small gold blotches. The butterfly was die-cut and sprayed with a number of coats of White Shimmer Spray (IRL it's shimmery although difficult to see in the photo). The sentiment was stamped using White Pigment Ink and heat embossed with white DP. To pickup the gold feature on the panel three gold rhinestone gems were added to the center of the butterfly.
Hope you're having a pleasant day.

The house on my card is die-cut using an arrow die. A die-cut red heart painted with clear WOS adds a 'welcoming' feature. The background of the circle panel was masked and ink blended to resemble blue sky peaking through the clouds. A few leaves were stamped in green to depict the house hanging in a tree.
Hope you're having an enjoyable day.
