For this week's inspiration Kristie provided us with a very warm-feeling holiday card. For my card those inspirations translated to use of her colors and black under the pierced panel, star (I "winked" the star in lieu of rhinestone gems), line embossed the card front (about 1/4 inch from the edge) and stamped and embossed a collage of Christmas sentiments as the main image (the MISTI worked wonders for aligning/stamping the sentiments). The red star, green enamel dot and green and red fishtail flags added just a touch of seasonal color. This time I used a 5-inch square card base that seemed to work better for the size of the main image instead of the A2 size.

For the Muse Challenge Tracey provided us a CAS tropical themed card using a palm tree, flowers and tropical colors. My inspiration from Tracey's card ... basic layout, tropical colors (although a little different), CAS.
For the CASology Challenge I used my new fantastic stamp set from Precious Remembrance Shop (received for my winning card a few weeks ago). On the flower I chose to create my own plaid by using pink and orange markers with some help from a ruler. Then, I applied Copic markers to blend and smudge to make the plaid muted. Some of the process was an experiment with the outcome OK. Note: Although the flower was embossed and heat set, some bleeding from the ink occurred when the Copic markers were applied. This little hiccup just added some character!

My card entered for this challenge where Anita provided us a beautiful card for our inspirations. I used the color theme, gold glitter paper in lieu of gold embossing, die-cut sentiment. The rectangles are the negative pieces from using a die from MFT Blueprints 2. The remaining part of the die-cut was used as a template to align the rectangles.

This card falls within the cool-color temperatures. I was playing with the new dies and wanted to go with the chevron underlay with some of the areas that had fallen out. After applying the adhesive I quickly saw that some of it was exposed, so I covered up those spots with embossing powder and heat set.

I believe this card design falls within the Symmetry aspect, although the butterfly is placed more towards the upper left and the pink circle more toward the lower right.

Muse: Christmas Visions 16 MFT - Summer School - Hard vs. Soft
For MCV 16 Betty provided a gorgeous layered card with a number of elements to pique our inspirations. I like making layered cards and included the following inspiring pieces in my card: colors (some are different hues), gold and silver, stripes and polka dots, pierced and/or stitched panels.
For the MFT Summer School:
Hard elements include rectangle panels, gold, silver, gems, stripes Soft elements include polka dots, scalloped panel, flourish, script sentiment, lacy circle Thank you for looking and commenting ... your feedback is greatly appreciated.
CASology - Number This card has lots of white space although it's in bright yellow.
I'm thrilled to be the guest designer for the CASology challenge this week with the cue word "number". For this challenge I chose to make a colorful card. I played with some new distress inks in jewel colors and applied using a stencil, stamped and embossed the sentiment over the inking, and added three gems in three of the colors just for some subtle bling. For a little interest, I chose to offset the stamped image.

This card is submitted for: Muse: Christmas Visions 15 MFT - Summer School - Color Saturation (Saturated)
For MCV 15 Chriss provided us with a festive card for our musing. I was inspired by the --color theme --gold embossed sentiment --use of black
I stamped and embossed a starry dove on black cardstock and added a touch of glitter paper under the white panel. The glitter paper provides just the right amount of sparkle. For a little Christmas green I added 3 rhinestone gems. Although my card does not resemble the one Chriss made, I used inspiration from hers to make my own.
For MFT - I took the saturated approach.

My card for this challenge is presented. The Sea of Love is a song (late '50s and '80s). Also, a thriller movie by the same title made in the late '80s. The sentiment contains a few words from the lyrics.
For the MCV14 Kimberly provided us with a festive and colorful card. My inspirations derived from her card are: --dark background --white embossing --colors --four separate elements with a Christmas theme in each
Joan's pretty CAS card was our inspiration for this challenge. I focused on the general layout, sentiments and colors. In place of the foliage, I edged the raised STAX panel with green diagonal-stripe paper and in lieu of the bow I used a fishtail flag.
CAS.ology 158 - Precious Gold and diamonds are precious ... these are the main ingredients on my card depicting the theme. Also, this card is for a precious friend and golfing pal who loves bling and will be undergoing breast cancer surgery and treatment. The inside of the card will read: "Hugs and hearts from your golfing pals. We're thinking of you."
Pam's beautifully elegant card provided many interesting details. The ones I chose to focus on are: --stars --gold --colors --one-word sentiment --dark background
For the stars and edging I used gold glitter paper. The colors I chose are in a different hue. The Midnight Blue background is embossed with stars (although it's not noticeable in the photo).
I'm linking to the CAS.ology challenge where the cue word is "Wings". I think the colored heart-shaped wings are a perfect fit for this challenge.
