Muse - Itsy bitsy SPIDER

Hi Everyone!

Time to play at Muse Challenge #238. Kim, this week's designer, provided a fun Halloween card filled with corn candy for our inspirations. My card features colors, Halloween theme, orange matting, black and white harlequin pattern strip at bottom of panel. The stripes were created using a couple of stamps in different widths and randomly stamping using thee colors (two oranges and one yellow) of dye ink. (I got this background idea from Shari Carroll on the Simon Says blog on October 20, 2017.) The spider that was part of the cobweb is small and seemed lost with the stripes, so I attached a sparkly spider embellishment from my stash. One web didn't seem like enough so a couple more were lightly stamped.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant fall day. Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Muse - CASology - Celebrate

Greetings!

Time to play in a couple of challenges:

Muse Challenge #237 where Tracey provided one of her CAS beauties for our inspiration.

CASology 270 - Cue Word is 'Odd' - Three flowers are colored on my card.

Inspirations from Tracey's card include similar layout (although opposite of Tracey's), color hues, floral, black sentiment.

I stamped and masked flowers and leaves.  Three flowers were colored with light toned yellows and bright pink Copic markers. In keeping with the Muse card, one of the flowers and a few leaves were left uncolored. For some shimmer clear WOS was applied to the colored flowers.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!  Thank you for

CAS Watercolour - Hello There

Greetings!

CAS Watercolour October Challenge is celebrating their First Birthday ... a big congratulations. In celebration our card is to include watercolor and leaves

For my card the watercolor panel was created using a combination of Distress Dye (Candied Apple and Carved Pumpkin) and Distress Oxide (Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick) Inks. The process was smooshing, water spraying, air drying and repeating these steps until I liked the result. A stitched die-cut frame was added for dimension and interest. The leaf was die-cut from cork. The sentiment matches the cork color and was achieved by using Versamark and Distress Vintage Photo inks and heat embossing with clear EP.

Hope you're having a wonderful day.  Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

CAS Mixup - Warm Wishes

Hello Everyone,

A fun time is currently happening at CAS Mixup October Challenge to use Stamping, Layer Stenciling plus choice.

For my card I did the following and incorporated Stamping, Layer Stenciling, Dry and Heat Embossing, Masking, Die-cutting
-- used negative of butterfly die-cut for stencil
-- the overlay stencil was created by using 3 cuts of a Snowdrifts Coverup Die and randomly arranging
-- used Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral) to dab/blend through the overlay stencil until the desired color was achieved
-- the overlay stencil was removed and the butterfly was ink blended using Spiced Marmalade (Distress Ink)
-- a bubble stencil was aligned over the spine of the butterfly and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink was blended down the spine of the butterfly
-- the butterfly was masked and a few more Peacock Feather colored bubbles were added
-- the detailed butterfly die cut was used to emboss the butterfly
-- the sentiment was stamped in black and heat embossed with clear EP
-- for a little sparkle a few of the bubbles were lightly painted with clear WOS

Hope you're having an enjoyable day ... thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Muse - Boo!

Greetings!

At the Muse Challenge #235 Eliz designed a very fun Halloween card with layers and goodies for our inspirations. Like Eliz's card my rendition includes lots of goodies ... DP; ribbon; spider embellishment; die-cut ghost, moon and city scape; googly eyes on the ghost, etc. Although I think this card is busy; if I was a child, I would love to receive ... lots to see and touch.

Hope your day is pleasant.

MCV - Peace on Earth

Greetings!

Time to play at Muse: ChristmasVisions (MCV83) where Stephanie, this week's designer, provided a gorgeous, stunning card for our inspirations. Not only did her card inspire in a number of ways (general theme, colors, continents, ocean, stars, red sentiment); also, a NBUS (and retired die) was used. The ocean was ink blended using two colors of Distress inks. The continents were die-cut from a light green foil DP. A stitched circle frames earth. The sentiment was stamped/heat embossed in red ink/clear embossing powder. The white panels were adhered to a red card stock base.

Wish everyone a wonderful day.  Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

MFT - Clean and Simple - Awesome ...

Hi Everyone!

A fun challenge at MFT - the 2017 Superstar Card Contest.  My card is for the Clean and Simple Genius Category

On white card stock I used various stamps from MFT - Abstract Art and Distressed Patterns to create the distressed/grunge/abstract design. The various Dye Inks used were MFT - Grape Jelly, Periwinkle, Pure Plum, Orange Zest, Lemon Drop. I like how the inks layered and retained their true color even on the grape and periwinkle colors. This panel was die cut using the stitched die panel from MFT - Blueprints 20. The diagonal striped strip was created using MFT - Bold Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp and MFT - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. A very thin strip of black card stock was adhered just above the striped strip. The sentiments (from MFT - Simply Fabulous Sayings and Essential Sentiments) were stamped using MFT - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.

Even with all the colors, I think my grandsons (teen and young adult) will like this creation.

Muse - thanks ...

Hi Everyone!

Today, I'm playing cards for the Muse Challenge #232 where Anita provided a gorgeous clean card for our inspirations. My rendition is an almost CASE. I focused on the colors and blending, white pattern in the color band, black die-cut sentiment and white embossed on black sentiment. The colors used are Wilted Violet, Faded Jeans, Evergreen Bough. The pattern was created by randomly stamping a flower in Versamark then white heat embossing. The thanks was diecut three times and layered. A few paintings of clear WOS add shimmer. The remainder of the sentiment was stamped in white and white heat embossed on black. A few clear sequins complete the card.

MCV - Season's Greetings

Greetings!

Just having fun playing cards with Muse: ChristmasVisions 83. Actually, this is the second card I made (but didn't post before today) ... it's an extra for fun. My inspiration came from the small houses on one of Cornelia's cards.  I thought of them as gingerbread houses. I stamped the houses and sentiment in brown ink. To give the gingerbread look I used a white Gelly Roll pen to add frosting/icing to the roof lines. Strips in red and green foil DP were adhered below the houses.

Hi Everyone,

Another session at MFT Camp Create - Magnificent Masking.

I chose to use the Doodle Blooms stamp set to stamp, mask, stamp, etc. various blooms. The large ones were chosen to color in shades of red with Copic markers. Clear WOS and gold sequins add shimmer and sparkle. To separate the flower panel from the sentiment panel strips of foil paper in gold and red were adhered. MCV - Wishing you ...

Hi Everyone!

This has been a fun time at Muse: ChristmasVisions 83 to create four cards from Cornelia's impressive array of inspirational cards. The wreath was created by very lightly drawing a couple of circles then filling in the space with red and green snowflakes, yellow stars and a few green sprigs. A bow in a light green shade painted with a coat of clear WOS and small clear gems add interest to the wreath. The sentiment is stamped in a darker shade of green.

A couple of fun challenges ...

Muse: ChristmasVisions (MCV) 83 and MFT - Camp Create - Inlaid Made Easy

For MCV 83 Cornelia provided four cards for our inspirations.  Her card with the penguins inspired my rendition that is suited for the southwest Arizona, USA, environment.  (For those unfamiliar with Yuma, Arizona, it is a winter destination for visitors from the cold climates and very hot in the summer.) Part of the design includes inlaid circle and date palm tree that is our assignment for MFT Day 1 Camp Create.

CAS Mixup - Tic-Tac-Toe - CAS Watercolour - One in a Million

Hello All!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

Today, I have a card for a couple of challenges:

CAS Mixup Card Challenge - use tissue paper, stamping and choice (dry and heat embossing, die-cut, water-color smooshing)

Tic Tac Toe - TTTC005 - my card includes pearls, die-cut, butterfly (middle across)

The butterfly was created by wrinkling a piece of pink tissue paper (repurposed from MFT packing) then gluing to a piece of cardstock. (I glue the tissue paper to the card stock first, because I was concerned that I would tear it when it was wet). When the glue was dry, the tissue paper panel was smooshed into Distress Inks sprayed with water. When dry, the smooshed panel was stamped with Versamark Ink/heat embossed with clear EP ... this process helped show the 'wrinkles' in the tissue paper. (Actually, this was a practice piece after watching Loll's video ... I liked the outcome so used it.) Then, the panel was die-cut with a butterfly die. A pierced square panel was used to stamp the sentiment to follow the curve of one of the butterfly wings. For additional interest, the pierced panel and butterfly were offset, three pink pearls were added to the butterfly, and three embossed score lines were added to the bottom of the card stock.

CAS Watercolour Challenge - Butterfly - also submitting to this challenge ... thank you, Bonnie.

Enjoyed the tissue paper process ... easy and straightforward ... will use it again.

Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.
